This is the official GFL mini ramp ,and will be used at Demos and GFL Events in the future.
The photos show some of the sections prior to being joined together..Of course my camera batteries died after the third photo... The ramp will be 24 ft wide in total, with 16 ft of 5ft high and 8 ft of 8ft high section..Should be sick when we get the masonite on it tomorrow.. Props to Ed from Mindless Surfboards who worked throught the night to get this finished.(I quit at 10pm!) More to come over the weekend.

Im still recovering from a long weekend spent skating at Cocoa Beach Skatepark with some of the best skaters around.Mike Rogers did a great job organizing the event and I cant wait for the next one.. Benji Galloway and Tim Johnson were the guest pro skaters in attendance and showed us all how its really done. I have a bunch of video footage that I will upload to the net in the next couple of days.
A pre Grind for Life session is in the making ..As all the skaters from all over the state arrive in Cocoa Beach tonight ,everyone is eager to get a few runs in before the big event tomorrow. So be there at Cocoa Beach Skatepark around 7pm..
Dont Forget that Grind For Life Benefit starts saturday afternoon at 4pm and will continue until 9pm.Bring the whole family.
My Favorite Skateboard Magazines at the moment are Juice,Concussion and Concrete Wave.. They are probably the most relevant to the older skater. "Juice" is awesome and is exactly what Thrasher started out as 25 years ago.. Unfortunately Thrasher is just a catalog of ads nowadays for tight jeans and shoes with absolutely no content to it whatsoever.I went out and subscribed to it a few months ago and I've gotta say its a piece of shit so far.. Concussion is core pool skating magazine and absolutely rocks...And Concrete wave is cool too.If you dont already get these magazines ,you should ..Check the links above.. Are there any other Skate Mags out there that are worth checking out?
As Bob Umbel said Victor Perez showed up and killed the pool.He was a pro skater back in the late 70's /early eighties and skated for Santa Cruz..At 47 years old he still skates like a wildman.. There was a huge turnout of over 30 y/o skaters this week.It seems we have some momentum going right now,so lets keep it up..PJ your absence has been noted! I didnt take any photos last night so I have snagged some of "Vertseven's" shots from the 2nd light messageboard..

Thanks to the Spot for all their help and PBR for the beer.
Also thanks to THE WORST. They are a great band. Check em out next time they are in your town.
See you at GFL and The Expo on Jan 13th.
Oh yeah . Crap
And for Best Trick Tullie Carlton for this -Indy air to nosepick on the ledge, 4 ft above the bowl deck!
Here's some movie clips I took at the event.. You can see how slippy it was from PJ's first movie. I dont know everyones names so apologies to those I labeled by their hair color etc...
The competition consisted of 2 divisions....Masters 30-39 years old and Grand Masters 40-and over...The Skating was insane in both groups. If you've ever skated at the The bowl at S.P.O.T. you'll know that it is really slippy,I mean really really slippy...... so there were alot of wipeouts due to this...I decided not to skate in the comp after taking a few practice runs... Since I am currently recovering from a fractured shoulder I thought it best to sit this one out..Props to Binky Conklin for organizing this bash , he did and awesome job...For 20 bucks we all got the Official OMBJ T-Shirt ,free food and beer for the day and a bunch of prizes for the winners too...Ya can't beat that...
